Re: International campaign to prevent the genocide in Iran committed by Islamic Republic of Iran
Dear Secretary General:
We wish to commend and thank the recent efforts of Your Excellency and the Special Rapporteur Javaid Rahman to further investigate the continued horrific violations of human rights in Iran by the Islamic Republic regime.
As the Iranian people’s rise against tyranny continues, more than 15,000 protesters have been arrested. Hundreds of women, men, and children have been beaten, killed, tortured, and executed. Many of the regime’s top representatives have openly called for the execution of all the protesters and the arrest and intimidation of their friends and families. This is in addition to the tens of thousands of existing prisoners of conscience who are rotting in the Islamic Republic’s jails.
Although the calls for further investigations and the expulsion of the Islamic Republic from the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women, especially by US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, are commendable, the Islamic Republic’s total and unequivocal defiance and continued violations of the United Nations Charter must be addressed.
The regime’s current atrocities against its own people in Kurdish cities in Iran are considered “genocide.” Genocide is defined as “a crime committed with the intent to destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group, in whole or in part,” according to the UN Genocide Convention.
The Islamic regime, which is a gender apartheid government, has been systematically killing people who are politically, religiously, and ideologically opposed to its rule.
The Islamic Republic must be sanctioned and expelled from all United Nations Commissions. The Islamic Republic and its brutal instruments of terror and repression do not represent the people of Iran. Many of Iran’s true representatives are imprisoned, and the UN should recognize their proxies as the voices of the Iranian people and their aspirations.
It is incumbent on you, as the Secretary General of the United Nations, to be the torchbearer of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, be the voice of the voiceless, and recognize the calls of the Iranian people for freedom, democracy, and justice.
We sincerely thank you for your assistance and consideration to this urgent humanitarian matter.

Very truly yours,
